Hello Warrior is more than a website, it’s a community.
WHY DID I START BLOGGING?
From as early as middle school I knew I wanted to write in some capacity. I always loved writing poems and short stories. I was obsessed with reading and would literally get upset when a book would end because I wanted more. When I was younger I really liked fiction because I felt like I could escape from the reality that was my childhood but as I’ve gotten older I am much more interested in non-fiction. This has nothing to do with infertility but my favorite genre to read about is true hauntings and such. I love a good ghost story! I actually wanted to go to college for creative writing and be a ghost hunter that would research old buildings and write about them. So far away from where I ended up!
I started blogging because I needed an outlet for what is now infertility. I started writing about our journey only five months in because a journal just wasn’t cutting it. Before we started trying, I had no idea that for so many couples - it takes a year or so to conceive. I was very under educated on the topic. When I first started writing, I just did it to get it out there. I didn’t connect with others or try to create a sense of community but then around 8-10 months into the journey, I knew I needed more support. So I kept blogging but opened an Instagram account for my blog and started to connect with other women who were like me.
WHY “HELLO WARRIOR”
I wanted a more inclusive message with my brand and I love the idea of all of us thinking that we are warriors.
A SAFE PLACE FOR NOT ONLY MYSELF BUT OTHER WOMEN, TOO
Hello Warrior not just a safe place for myself but for other women too. Through my blog, I share every detail (don’t worry, there are trigger warnings) that way women can be more educated on what their bodies are capable of. I also open myself to give support to other women rather it be by email or direct message on Instagram. I make myself very available so that no woman feels alone in this. I’ve also created a facebook group for my Hello Warrior readers to connect with other women and talk about trying to conceive, infertility, and pregnancy loss.
